I was looking through my spares box and found the other bit of the arms that I had retained and realised that this was the bit that was holding the 'binoculars' . It also had the 'hand' from the other arm that went missing attached. So I trimmed off the rest of that hand and sanded things down. I then removed the arm from a French mounted general and fixed the new arm on. Not too bad and since I don't need hundreds a worthwhile one off.
Now if only I could think of Officer on foot that would make a reasonable conversion?
His Prussian counterpart using both hands to use his binoculars and mounted on an S range horse this time..
Nice work.
ReplyDeleteNice work.
ReplyDeleteHi Ray
DeleteThanks for taking the time to look and comment. Much appreciated as always.
Nicely done. I have a 'thing' for officers looking through binoculars.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ros, I know what you mean, I have been trying to work out how to do a figure with binoculars for some time. Need to get my head around how to make a dismounted figure. I think the mounted French Officer 'style' of one hand holding the binoculars could be used for any of the FPW mounted Officers.

ReplyDeleteThat's really very good indeed - I like him. The story is getting scarily like Jurassic Park though - so if we find a broken bayonet from an S-Range figure, you can very nearly reverse engineer a whole army from the bits?
ReplyDeleteHi, it is strange you should say this. Twisting off heads, cutting off arms and hands is a bit sinister when you thing about it! More 'Frankenstein' than 'Jurassic Park' but certainly creepy! My collection of 'spare heads and bodies' is certainly growing!
DeleteWherer there's a Will, there's a way, ABC. Splendid work, as always.
ReplyDeleteBest regards

Hi WM
DeleteAll these binoculars trying to find poor Will. You must of course take the prize for the inspiration to do this.
Very nice, glad to see the French have re-armed!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I hadn't thought of that one! Just making my Hesse Kessel artillerymen and I think I have an idea for an officer on foot with binoculars. Need to find another arm!
